I had never heard of it either, though I did learn (after bearing witness to some of their remarkable handicraft, er, beakcraft?) that hummingbirds weave spider webbing into their nests. I did already know that bushtits weave hanging nests (which I’ve not seen in person yet), so it doesn’t surprise me that they would want to find anything with good tensile strength for those sorts of conditions… But yeah, their adorable little chitterings always catch my ear, and I was so overjoyed that this time they also caught my eye
